JAKE CLARK’S ART SUNDAE AT ROCKEFELLER CENTER

On November 16, 2024, artist JAKE CLARK will led a free, public art-making workshop. Drawing inspiration from his innovative reinterpretations of classic sites and logos on ceramic sculptures, children had the chance to create their own artworks on 3D-printed replicas of Jake's vessels, which were then incorporated into a larger public art installation. Children also got a chance to learn about 3D printing from local studio, 3D Brooklyn.
The workshop coincided with Clark's holiday-inspired installation at Rockefeller Center. This presentation featured numerous ceramic works inspired by New York City and the iconic holiday season, including two free-standing sculptures created specially for the Art in Focus exhibition. These symbols of the city invited both locals and tourists to embrace the spirit of the season.
ART SUNDAE is an ongoing public program providing children a hands-on art-making experience led by a contemporary artist. Designed to be accessible and highlight art’s positive impact across all communities, this free program gives children the opportunity to experiment with various media inspired by an artist's practice. The work that is created in a collaboration between the artist and children then becomes a public art installation that remains on view. Art Sundae was started in 2017 by Art Production Fund and Fort Gansevoort.
