GREG ITO ART SUNDAE AT ROCKEFELLER CENTER

Rockefeller Center and Art Production Fund welcomes Los Angeles-based artist Greg Ito to New York City for a vibrant new summer exhibition. As part of the exhibition, on Thursday, June 26, Ito and APF hosted a free and public children’s interactive art-making workshop for all ages on site at Rockefeller Center as part of the Art Sundae program.
Inspired by Ito's practice, children had the opportunity to create their own window painting and to place their work within a larger public art installation. Inspired by Ito’s vitrine installation at 45 Rockefeller Plaza, where window motifs and sculptural props are intertwined to create a layered emotional landscape. Art Sundae is an ongoing public program presented by Art Production Fund that provides children a hands-on art-making experience led by a contemporary artist. Designed to be accessible and highlight art’s positive impact across all communities, this free program gives children the opportunity to experiment with various media inspired by an artist's practice. The work that is created in a collaboration between the artist and children then becomes a public art installation that remains on view. Art Sundae was started in 2017 by APF and Fort Gansevoort.
This Art Sundae workshop is generously supported by Leatherology.
